POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Director is both a leadership and hands-on role with responsibility to ensure that all facets of the employment life cycle for the Ministers is administered in alignment with The Republic of Tea cultural values. This role will support our multiple manufacturing sites, Corporate office and remote Sales Ministers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

Recruiting Lead the Organizations efforts for recruiting the best talent with the right cultural fit for the TEAm's overall effectiveness. Determine best criteria to fit with the business and family priorities and style.

Talent Management Source and select high potential candidates for all levels of the organization to ensure both a short and long-term talent management approach. Once proper candidate selection is made, develop onboarding and training programs to ensure success of the candidate in the first six months. This includes both technical training and cultural alignment to minimize first year turnover.

Employee Relations Evaluate human relations and work-related problems and determine and implement effective remediation techniques to resolve human relation issues amongst personnel. Provide visible support by regular site visits to facilities and office locations.

Human Resources Policies Develop and maintain the appropriate policies and programs for effective management of the Ministers. Maintain knowledge of HR polices, programs, laws and issues across the various states (MA, CA, and IL) as well as functional areas (Operations, Sales, Creative, etc.). Act as a compliance and governance regulator related to HR laws and regulations.

Health and Wellness Lead our Safety and Healthy Minister programs for continuous improvement and ongoing engagement and execution. Ensure OSHA compliance and measures are in place.

Compensation and Benefits Develop and Implement comprehensive compensation and benefit plans that are competitive and cost effective for the Organization and align with the cultural values and priorities. Lead the annual medical renewal process to optimize world class benefit offerings with lowest possible cost.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: 

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field
  • 8 plus years experience as a Generalist (manufacturing environment preferred)
  • Experience with Human Resources in a family owned and led business
  • Background of supporting multi-site workforces
  • Working knowledge of State laws

  • Logic and common-sense approach to Minister relations with warmth and "approachable" style.
  • Strong communication skills with an emphasis on listening and the ability to message "our way" and our strategies.
  • Proven ability to be a trusted partner and advisor to all levels of the Organization to collaborate and influence decisions, balancing what is best for the Ministers and the business.
  • Highly competent in managing multiple priorities and rapidly changing priorities.
  • Resourceful and creative and can get things done efficiently and competently within the cultural guidelines of the organization.
  • Ability to be hands and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
  • Experience with coaching and progressive discipline.
