Graphic Designer and D to C Design Assistant - Minister of Creative Expression

POSITION SUMMARY 

This position is a hybrid role responsible for designing and illustrating packaging and collateral. The role will also be assisting our web team and be our in-house photographer. Only local candidates to the San Francisco Bay Area will be considered.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 Graphic Designer                                                                                                                65% 

• Create new designs as well as update old ones;
• Work on packages and collateral including sell sheets, brochures and the annual Wholesale catalog;
• Able to think of original concepts and do quick sketch presentations as well as tighter comps;
• Illustration where appropriate;
• Produce in-house photography for printed materials and web;
• Manage marketing/packaging research;
• Perform production for final printing and proof printing process through to press checks;
• Design collateral for trade shows and events including invitations, name tags, emails, brochures, promotional items and large format banners;
• Create mockups of products to support the sales team;
• Design promotional email, social media and webinar blasts as needed;
• Assist in special projects

D to C Design Assistant                                                                                                                 35% 

• Create assets for D to C needs, including product images and social media posts;
• Organize and maintain all web and catalogue design files on server;
• Assist in coding and testing emails, scheduling email sends;
• Assist in overall execution of critical D to C web projects;
• Perform any other duties as assigned. 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• BA in Graphic Design including courses such as typography, packaging, computer, printing;
• 3-5 years of minimum experience in design firm or as in-house designer;
• Experience with Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG)
• Working knowledge of all current Adobe CS programs and photography;
• Retouching skills required;
• Must have knowledge of the printing process and manage press checks solo;
• Have a good eye for color, working knowledge of Pantone color system;
• Design with budgets and deadlines in mind.

• Technically savvy with basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, Java and web content management systems;
• Familiarity with asset management and database servers;
• Keen interest in basic web concepts and best practices;
• Understanding of print production process a plus;

 TRAVEL 

• Occasional independent travel required
