Shipping Supervisor

Job Summary/Purpose Responsible for the management of all shipping department activities including, but not limited to, the productivity and development of all employees engaged in the picking, packing, and shipping/logistics process. 

Major Responsibilities/Activities

• Process and ship orders to meet internal timeliness metrics while limiting or eliminating labor waste. 
• Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow to obtain maximum staff effectiveness and efficiency. 
• Maintain a flexible work force for the variation in daily orders and scheduling.
• Prepare and ship pallet orders for key customers in compliance to all vendor specifications.
• Oversee work for quality, accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
• Work seamlessly with and in support of the Citizens Service Department to foster best in class customer service.
• Participate in the hiring and training of new employees.
• Provide continual feedback on both positive and negative performance to hourly employees
• Maintain a clean and safe shipping area at all times, focusing on food and employee safety.
• Ensure proper rotation and control of all finished goods inventories.
• Maintain an injury free workplace and be an active participant in the plant safety committee.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years working in a shipping department
• 3+ years training and supervision experience
• Forklift certified trainer preferred
