Marketing Print Designer

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for producing layouts ready for print for various assigned packaging, collateral, signage, catalogues and displays. Work with creative director, project managers and printer to ensure the final product comes out the best quality. Other minor responsibilities are art directing photography, proofing other designers' layouts and doing in-house photography when needed.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conceptualize, Design and create retail catalogues (6-8 throughout the year);
    • Manage timeline and communicate with printers/production for deadlines.
    • Art direct, styling and planning of Photoshoots
  • Packaging production for various product structures and product types;
    • Tin and bottle labels, gift packaging, etc. 
    • Update labels for reprints including updated certifications and ingredients.
  • Design and produce Point-of-Sale collateral including in-store merchandising, booklets, postcards, brochures, other event/trade show needs, etc.
  • Execute co-branded projects for labels and marketing pieces.

ADDITIONAL NEEDS:

  • Conceptualize and present ideas through quick sketches as well as tighter comps that are supported by well-crafted and strategically sound design executions while maintaining the brand standards and brand identity.
  • Produce in-house photography for printed materials.
  • Assist with marketing/packaging research.
  • Problem solver who thinks outside the box.

REQUIREMENTS/CHARACTERISTICS:

  • 5 years experience working in CPG or creative agency working on consumer-facing brands a plus.
  • Have a good eye for color, working knowledge of various color systems.
  • Able to art direct photography/illustration.
  • Must perform work with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work under pressure while managing several projects at once.
  • Ability to work independently and within a TEAm.
  • Must be able to self-manage schedules.
  • Photo retouching skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good proofing skills (both color and copy).
  • BA with a design major.

TRAVEL:

  • Occasional independent travel required.
